Your journey

A Journey of Balance,
beauty & discovery

Each day has its own gentle rhythm — enough structure to hold you, enough space to simply be.

Six days unfold slowly here — mornings that begin while the sea is still asleep, afternoons that drift between shade and water, evenings that linger long after the last note has faded. Nothing is hurried, nothing needs to be proved. You arrive as a guest and leave with a little more of yourself, and with friends who understood you without explanation.

Our first day starts in the afternoon at Wild Orange Retreat Center at 16:00, designed to welcome you gently into the retreat energy. After settling in with a welcome signature drink and local treats, we guide you through the space. In the afternoon we gather for a welcome ritual, soft live music by Bone, and yoga. Bone will also offer a traditional welcome blessing from his Tibetan heritage  a simple ceremonial ritual to welcome guests, create a sense of protection and goodwill, and mark the beginning of a shared journey. A nourishing local dinner on the terrace by the sea sets the tone for the days ahead.

Bone Lhamokyap

Bone Lhamokyap

Tibetan Musician & Sound Healer

A talented professional Tibetan musician, Bone Lhamokyap creates original music from the soul of the Shongomah (Sangemao) people, a minority tribe of Tibetan descent whose existence is on the verge of extinction. His music reflects a deep admiration for nature, peace, and the beauty of life. Bone blends ethnic sounds with electronic harmonies, playing guitar, flute, and keyboard, and is skilled in Kundalini meditation and chanting, as well as crafting some of his tribal instruments. He has performed across Asia, Europe, and the USA, including the Shanghai World Music Festival, collaborated with Grammy-recognized producer Michael Starita at Fantasy Studios in California, and received the ‘Best New Age’ award at Beijing’s Gate of Nine Dragons festival in 2024. In 2026, he and his wife Valentina hosted the Himalayan Sound Retreat in Dubrovnik. Through his music, meditation, and soulful performances, Bone creates a beautiful bridge between the ancient traditions of the Himalayas and the warmth of the Mediterranean, bringing people and cultures together through the universal language of music.

Vegetarian, always

Vegetarian guests are well looked after. Much of our table is naturally plant-based — colourful dishes made with vegetables, herbs, and fruit from our own garden, alongside classics like melanzane alla parmigiana: an Italian favourite that has long been at home on Dubrovnik tables. Our garden vegetables are beautifully enriched with Croatia’s wonderful cheeses — fresh, creamy and gently aged varieties from Dalmatia and Istria, which bring warmth and depth to every vegetarian plate. Just let us know your preferences when booking.

Croatian Wines – A Journey Through Dalmatian Flavours

Croatia has a remarkable winemaking heritage, shaped by centuries of tradition, sun-drenched vineyards, and the unique landscapes of the Adriatic coast.

Dalmatia is home to some of Croatia's most celebrated wines, including the elegant white Pošip, the rich and powerful red Plavac Mali, and the prestigious Dingač, produced from Plavac Mali grapes grown on the steep, sun-soaked slopes of the Pelješac Peninsula.

Pošip delights with its freshness and aromas of citrus, ripe fruit, and Mediterranean herbs, making it a beautiful companion to fresh seafood and local delicacies. Plavac Mali offers a deeper, more intense character, with notes of dark berries, dried figs, and warm Mediterranean spices.

Note: Dingač is not a grape variety — it is a prestigious protected wine designation and wine-growing area on Pelješac, where Plavac Mali is grown.

A Fascinating Wine Story – From Dalmatia to California

One grape, three names

Crljenak Kaštelanski (Tribidrag)Croatia=PrimitivoItaly=ZinfandelCalifornia

The parents of Plavac Mali

Crljenak Kaštelanski+Dobričić→Plavac Mali

One of the most remarkable discoveries in the world of wine connects Croatia, Italy, and California through the DNA of their grapevines.

For many years, the origins of California's famous Zinfandel remained a mystery. Genetic research involving Croatian scientists and the University of California, Davis, revealed that Zinfandel, Italy's Primitivo, and Croatia's Crljenak Kaštelanski (Tribidrag) are genetically the same grape variety.

Even more fascinating, Crljenak Kaštelanski is one of the parents of Croatia's beloved Plavac Mali, together with another indigenous Dalmatian grape, Dobričić.

A beautiful reminder that some of the world's most famous wines share their roots with the vineyards of Dalmatia.

Wine, Culture & the Joy of Sharing

During our retreat, we will discover these fascinating stories through carefully selected Croatian wine tastings, exploring the character of Pošip, Plavac Mali, Dingač, and other regional wines.

Our journey through the Pelješac Peninsula will introduce us to local winemaking traditions, beautiful vineyard landscapes, and the people who preserve this remarkable heritage.

Paired with fresh Mali Ston oysters, local cheeses, Dalmatian prosciutto, and other traditional delicacies, these experiences offer a wonderful introduction to the culinary heritage of Dubrovnik and Dalmatia.

For us, wine is more than a drink — it is a story of the land, the people, and the traditions passed down through generations.

Throughout our retreat, we will savour the flavours of Dubrovnik and Dalmatia, celebrate local culture, and enjoy the simple Mediterranean pleasure of sharing good food, beautiful wines, and meaningful moments together.

About Brunch: Dalmatinski Pršut

Dalmatian prosciutto is one of Croatia’s most treasured traditional delicacies. Traditionally dry-salted with sea salt, gently smoked over hardwood, and slowly matured for at least one year, it is protected under the EU Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) scheme. For us, it is more than prosciutto — it is a piece of Dalmatian heritage, traditionally enjoyed with local cheese, fresh tomatoes, olives, homemade bread, and a drizzle of Croatian olive oil.

About Mali Ston Oysters — the Queen of Oysters

The Mali Ston oyster, known locally as Malostonska kamenica, is one of Croatia’s most exceptional seafood delicacies and a true treasure of the Adriatic Sea. Cultivated for centuries in the pristine waters of Mali Ston Bay, this rare European flat oyster (Ostrea edulis) owes its distinctive character to the unique natural conditions of the bay, where freshwater springs meet the salty Adriatic Sea. This extraordinary environment creates oysters with a delicate texture, beautifully balanced flavours, and a subtle mineral taste of the sea. Affectionately celebrated as “The Queen of Oysters,” the Mali Ston oyster received the prestigious European Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) in 2020, becoming the first Croatian seafood product to receive this recognition and the only farmed European flat oyster with this designation in Europe. For generations, local families have preserved the traditional art of oyster farming, passing their knowledge and passion from one generation to the next. For us, tasting Mali Ston oysters is more than a culinary experience — it is a journey into the heart of Dalmatian heritage. During our retreat, we will visit a traditional oyster farm by boat, discover the secrets of this remarkable delicacy, and enjoy freshly harvested oysters paired with local wine, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Mali Ston Bay. A truly unforgettable taste of the Adriatic, where nature, tradition, and exceptional flavours come together.

About Croatian Cheeses — A Taste of Local Tradition

Cheese has a special place in Croatian culinary tradition, and during our retreat, we will enjoy a delightful tasting of carefully selected local and regional cheeses. From rich, aged cheeses to delicate, creamy varieties and a selection of truffle cheeses infused with aromatic Istrian truffles — alongside other local cheeses from small family farms — each offers its own unique flavour and character. Served alongside fresh bread, local olive oil, honey, and traditional fig preserves, our cheese tasting is an invitation to slow down, discover new flavours, and enjoy the simple pleasures of Mediterranean life. A beautiful celebration of local craftsmanship, authentic flavours, and the joy of sharing good food together.

About Bosnian Ćevapčići — a Taste of Bosnian Tradition

Bosnian ćevapčići, affectionately known as ćevapi, are one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most beloved traditional dishes and a true symbol of its rich culinary heritage. Made from carefully selected minced meat, traditionally beef or a blend of meats, these small, hand-shaped sausages are grilled over an open flame, giving them their distinctive smoky aroma, juicy texture, and delicious flavour. Ćevapi are traditionally served in warm, soft somun bread, accompanied by freshly chopped onions and often kajmak, a rich and creamy dairy speciality. Simple ingredients, prepared with care, create an unforgettable taste that has brought people together for generations. For us, ćevapi are more than just a meal — they represent the warmth of Bosnian hospitality, the joy of gathering around the table, and a culinary tradition shaped by centuries of cultural influences. Whether enjoyed beside the beautiful Buna River in Blagaj or among the charming historic streets of Mostar, ćevapi offer an authentic taste of Bosnia and Herzegovina — where delicious food, centuries-old traditions, friendship, and heartfelt hospitality come together.

Slavonian kulen, whole and sliced, with homemade bread and cheese
05

About Kulen — a Taste of Slavonian Tradition

Kulen is one of Croatia’s most treasured traditional delicacies and a true taste of Slavonia, the fertile region of eastern Croatia. Made from carefully selected pork, seasoned with sweet and hot red paprika, garlic, and salt, kulen is traditionally stuffed into a natural casing, gently smoked over hardwood, and slowly dried and matured for several months. This traditional process gives kulen its distinctive deep red colour, rich aroma, firm texture, and beautifully balanced spicy flavour. Slavonski kulen is protected under the EU Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) scheme, recognising its regional heritage, authenticity, and traditional production methods. For us, kulen is more than a delicacy — it is a symbol of Croatian hospitality, family gatherings, and the pleasure of sharing good food. Traditionally served in thin slices with homemade bread, local cheese, fresh vegetables, and a glass of Croatian wine, it brings a little taste of Slavonia to our Mediterranean table.
